Other materials, including appliances, electronics, roofing and dense debris, need an explicit acceptance check. A picture, example list or unused space in the bin is not permission to load an item.

Which items should be kept out while you check?

If your plans change, confirm the new material before putting it in. It is easier to choose a suitable route while an item is still separate than to resolve the issue after it has been buried beneath the rest of the load.

Durham Region lists the Clarington Household Special Waste Depot on Bowmanville Avenue as a household-hazardous-waste-only location. It is not a general-purpose destination for your renovation debris or bulky household load. Check the Region's current item eligibility and operating information before travelling.
Municipal acceptance does not establish acceptance in a private rental bin, and the reverse is also true. Use the correct instructions for the specific provider or facility you will actually use. If in doubt, ask before transporting or loading the material.
